Headwear baseball caps are manufactured in a WRAP-certified factory in China. The following text is taken from their ethical policy...
"Headwear UK supports the aspirations of the Ethical Trading Initiative. As a company we believe in paying fair prices to our suppliers. We believe our objective should be to raise living standards and working conditions for workers in under developed countries whilst also taking steps to minimise the environmental impact of our activities. we have worked with the management for over 20 years to establish and implement a code of practice and we are proud to be associated with this unit. In China we have regular contact and monthly visits with the factory and we also conduct independent factory audits"

Environmental Policies
The following text is taken from their environmental policy...
"Our clients are inevitably concerned how their projects with us impact on the environment, particularly in terms of GGE and the total emissions associated with a particular product of project (carbon footprint). The size of the footprint lies partly in the decisions made by our clients and partly in the commercial choices made and encouraged by Headwear. Measures may include...

• Our Chinese factory unit produces power from natural gas which has very low GGE compared to coal and diesel energy sources.
• Avoid using airfreight and transport by sea - this means clients need to think further ahead and make decisions earlier
• Encourage factories to use local raw materials instead of using freight to bring in materials. For example, using local yarn for garments instead of importing.
• Minimise packaging.
• Consider organic/non-organic issues. A recent government funded report indicates there is a bigger carbon impact producing organic products. Purchasers of these products must make their own choice and balance carbon impact against environmental pollution from fertilizers."
