Embroidered Fleece Garments
Polyester fleece is a very versatile fabric and embroidered fleece garments and accessories can be a useful addition to any clothing collection in a variety of ways. Whether for staff uniforms and workwear or as part of a winter collection, there are many colours, styles and brands to choose from.
The fleece pullover is more than just a fluffy jumper ubiquitous amongst garden centre staff. Almost exclusively made from polyester - apart from a few notable exceptions that have linings containing a bit of nylon or spandex - they are generally soft, warm and comfortable. This article will look at the different styles of fleece garments and their variety of uses.
The full-zip fleece, also called a fleece jacket, is an outer garment that would usually be considered as a top layer but could also be worn under a jacket in very cold conditions.
The zip-neck fleece, as the name suggest, has a much shorter zip and is worn as a pullover. Sometimes this garment is referred to as a quarter-zip fleece or half-zip fleece. Zip-neck fleeces will often have an adjustable waistband to ensure a snug fit around the middle.
Reversible fleece jackets will usually have a fleece layer and a water-resistant polyester or nylon layer. This makes them suitable for a variety of weather conditions and the reverse outer offers the wearer a warm, dry jacket for rain or snow.
Microfleece is thinner than regular fleece, but its tighter weave means it is usually around the same fabric weight. As a thinner garment with a generally smoother finish it is well-suited as a warm layer beneath a jacket.
Sports fleece with wicking properties is designed to keep athletes warm and dry whilst training. The wicking fabric draws moisture away from the body. Sports fleece garments usually contain a small amount of Spandex (10% or less) to allow a degree of stretch and flexibility.
Some general points to note about fleece apparel include the increasing range of available colours, sizes and styles. No longer is the purchaser restricted to a choice between black or navy - modern fleece garments are available in purple, green, red, yellow, cream and many more. Contrast styles such as red with grey stripes increase the available colour options even further.
A fleece with custom embroidery is a great addition to any corporate clothing wardrobe and as an outer layer any branding is more visible than perhaps it would be on a t-shirt.
